Sunday School classes are held for every age group as part of Sunday morning services. Each local church divides age groups as necessary and provides instructors for these classes. Sunday School is a highly favored means of teaching children (and students of all ages) to reverence the House of God and His Word. Sunday School provides younger children with basic scriptural lessons that give them a strong spiritual foundation to build on, while classes for the more mature ages build on that already established foundation. Contact the local church nearest you for Sunday School availability and times.
The Victory Leaders Band (VLB) is the youth ministry department of The Church of God. The VLB's are comprised of all youth between the ages of 12 and 35. The VLB's are organized into groups for prayer, Bible study, and Christian service. The VLB department is also responsible for raising funds for the Free Literature Department, which prints tracts about The Church of God and its doctrine. Contact the local church nearest you for more information about VLB services and meeting times.
The Women's Missionary Band (WMB) is an organized effort to support and raise funds for the missionary endeavors of The Church of God. Twice a year, in March and October, the WMB conducts organized drives in an effort to raise large missionary offerings for foreign fields. These World Mission Drives, with the aid of other departments within The Church of God, will insure a large offering for efforts of The Church of God in foreign fields.
The Assembly Band Movement (ABM) was patterned after the system adopted by Moses in caring for Israel, by placing small groups of members under the care of an appointed band leader. This system was adopted to assist pastors of churches with larger membership to keep in direct touch with all of their members. These small groups of 6 to 12 people allow appointed leaders of the local church to watch over the needs of those under their care... to love them and administer spiritual help when needed. These small group settings also allow for more personal ministry and fellowship among the members.
The Church of Prophecy Marker Association (CPMA) is the department responsible for raising funds for properties and physical markers related to the history of The Church of God. Individuals and local churches become members of the CPMA by making a minimal annual contribution to assist in the building of these funds.
