Praise Reports from the 2006 "He Keeps Me Singing"
Regional Ladies Retreat for IN/KY/OH

We are proud to report there were 60 in attendance of the retreat.
A report from the Retreat Coordinator, as well as some personal
testimonies, appear below for your reading:

I was so excited to go to Ladies Retreat this year.
I went expecting something special from the Lord,
and I was not disappointed. From the very
beginning, I could feel the presence of God so
strong. I could hardly wait for the service to begin.
The wonderful singing just set the stage for God’s
Word to be preached at each session.  If I had to
choose my favorite thing, I would have a very hard
time.  I enjoyed each workshop, each message,
each special song and the sweet fellowship.

Sister Jewell White preached from a heart of love.  What a blessing she has been to me and to this
region.  The anointed singing of The Smiths took us to a higher spiritual plane with the Lord.  I received
the blessing I needed on Saturday night as they ministered through song.  The Lord continues to “keep
me singing” in a way that only He can do.

Thank the Lord for the message and interpretation we were blessed to witness on Saturday night!  Also, a big thank you to the following people who assisted me as my staff this year! God Bless You!

  • Mary Lou Daniel and Regina Goodin – Worship Leaders
  • Doris Randols and Beverly Benningfield – Workshops
  • Pam Phelps – Business Manager/Registration
  • Lisa Newport – Decorations/Registration
  • Jewell White – Retreat Evangelist
  • The Smiths – Retreat Guests/Singing Group
  • Ryan Carter – Sound Set Up

Message & Interpretation from Ladies Retreat 2006
( Saturday Evening )

“My children, my children.  Listen, Listen, Listen.  Do what I say.  Do what I say.  Heed to my words.  Heed to my words.  Heed my voice this night.   Listen, Listen, Listen.  It is time to take A Stand.”

I would like to take this time to thank God and the ladies that worked and prayed for a successful Ladies Retreat.  In one month I will be 79 years old.  I had not ever attended a Ladies Retreat.  I was so blessed as everyone else on the 28, 29, and 30th of April.

Every program was in unison, the music, singing and preaching was outstanding.  Sis. Carter did such a wonderful job preparing this retreat.  On Saturday night the Holy Ghost moved in a miraculous way that there was not a sound except the holiness of God being felt.  I told someone if the retreat were tomorrow, again I would by the help of God make my way back there.

Everyone I spoke with, those who had attended many retreats before said this was one of the best ever. God bless everyone that attended.  I have lived for Christ and His Church since Nov. 1960, loving every minute of those years, and still loving The Church of God.

Praise the Lord!

I remain sincerely,
Anna Graham

"He Keeps Me Singing" was the theme for
IN/KY/OH Ladies Retreat held at The
Seasons Lodge and Conference Center in
Nashville, IN. April 28-30.  The Retreat was
under the direction of Sis. Cathy Carter.
There were 60 in attendance.  Our
Evangelist was Sis. Jewell White, from
Tennessee.  Our Regional Overseer,
Bro. Danny Carter greeted the ladies on
Friday night and opened the retreat with
prayer.

Sis. Carter welcomed the ladies with Eph. 6:19: "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord." Under the direction of our worship leaders, Sis. Regina Goodin and Sis. Mary Lou Daniel, we began to sing songs of praise, worship and thanksgiving, letting our voices ring out to God.  The Spirit of the Holy Ghost was in each session.  Sis. White spoke under the power of God.  Sis. Evelyn Frye came forward for prayer.
She needed healing for her hip.  God began to move and she got out of her wheelchair and began to walk with Sis. Carter.  She soon began to walk all by herself for the rest of the retreat.  Praise God! Saturday morning began with a full day of  blessings.  We had a workshop with Sis. Beverly Benningfield, entitled  "What's Your Range?"   She encouraged the ladies to stay on "middle C"  which is "Christ", and not allow the things that are over our heads or the things that seek to bring us low, to get the best of us.  Next, Sis. Doris Randols blessed us with the workshop entitled, "The Power Source."  She instructed the ladies to stay "wound up" in prayer, and to keep "fresh batteries" with daily Bible reading.  She also encouraged the ladies to "get electrified" with the Holy Ghost!

Saturday evening was our banquet.  We received music boxes from our prayer partners, along with a musical CD from Sis. Carter, and a beautiful bookmark from the retreat.  The Smiths were such a blessing to the retreat as they ministered in song.  The Holy Ghost began to move and a message and interpretation came forth.  What a privilege to stand in such an awesome presence of God.  Sister White felt that the message for the evening had already been preached by the Holy Ghost.

Sunday Morning, Sis. White ministered "Your Invitation."  She stated that we must be ready to attend the marriage supper.  We must keep praying because the battle is the Lord's.  She encouraged us to keep a song in our hearts.  She gave each lady a rock, which represented the hard things in our lives.  On the rock was the word "Push" which represented "Pray Until Something Happens." For the closing of the service, each lady gathered together in a circle and anyone with a need came inside the circle.  God answered prayer for many that day.  They testified of healings and problems that were going to be worked out.

We appreciate Sis. Carter for the wonderful retreat.  The ladies will be singing in their hearts for a long time, feasting on the blessings that were received at Ladies Retreat.   WE WILL KEEP SINGING!

I hadn't been able to use my hands for much in the past 2 years without great pain.  I couldn't lift; I couldn't even stand the slightest touch on them.  It sent terrible pain up my arms.  This year at ladies retreat when one of our sisters was being prayed for, God healed her!

Because of this, I felt like clapping my hands.  I hadn't been able to clap my hands in 2 years.  I only pretended to in Church because I am the gleaner leader at the Catawba Island, Ohio Church; and had told the gleaners always to clap their hands to praise the Lord, and imagine every time they did that they were slapping the devil in the face.  I had to pretend to clap in front of them so as to not let the children down.

I began to clap my hands at Ladies Retreat for real.  It was painful at first, but the more I clapped, the better my hands felt.  By the end of service Friday night, I had no pain in my hands at all.  I was able to do things like button my shirt, brush my teeth, write this testimony with NO PAIN!

God has healed my hands!

I just wanted to thank the Lord for
being able to attend the IN-KY-OH
Regional Ladies Retreat.  It was a
wonderful and glorious time!

The love and unity I experienced
there was so strong!  The first
service on Friday night was
wonderful, and it just kept building
from that point on.  The first service
was so full of love and joy that all I
could do was cry.

Anything said or sung by anyone just made me cry!  It was just because that the love of God was so strong, it just made me weep.  I love the Lord and The Church of God with all my heart!  This was exactly what I needed!  Thank the Lord!  Thank the Lord!  Thank the Lord!

Praise be unto God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost!  This was the first time my moma desired to go to Ladies Retreat, and my first time also.  The singing, the preaching, the testimonies; and the glorious preaching was from the very throne of God!  It was wonderful; we truly dwelt in heavenly places!  The fellowship was so sweet and satisfying!  To God be all the glory for His wondrous love and mercy to us!
