2006 Regional Prayer & Fasting Conference
May, 2006
The Prayer and Fasting Conference is now history! However, the many prayers that were prayed and the tears that were shed for the needs of our region and for The Church of God as a whole will continue to wash over the throne room of God!
We gathered together on May 20-21 and began with an hour of spirit-filled prayer. The theme was "Anchored to The Rock." Pastor Don Hutton preached a wonderful message on this subject. His text was taken from Heb. 6:19, followed by a timely skit entitled "In Times Like These."
Pastor Christ Newport then shared how important the anchor is to a ship. What a wonderful feast we enjoyed with Pastor Newport's encouraging words. God's Spirit was so real to us.
Next, Sis. Carter led the congregation in a response reading. As we read God's word, God reminded us that He is near and that He is going to pour out "rivers of water" upon the high places and also in the low valleys! PTL!
After another prayer session, we were strengthened greatly by Sis. Betty Kendrick as she preached on Ps.40:2. Her message was entitled "He Set My Feet." We are thankful to know that God has been, is, and will continue to be with us, guiding our steps everyday.
Pastor Eric Phelps then preached under the anointing of the Holy Ghost as he shared Ps. 31:3. God will accomplish His will "For His Name's Sake!" What a glorious message from the Lord. As the prayer line came forward, burdens were lifted, hearts were encouraged, and lives were changed as we worshipped and thanked God for His mighty protection and for His leading. The message was followed by a skit entitled "The Anchor Holds." Sis. Gina Phelps sang in the Spirit and it seemed we could hear Jesus say "even though the ship may seem battered, my anchor is still holding the ship!"
Sunday Morning, God met with us greatly as we prayed and sang praises unto Him. Bro. Lonnie Johnson brought the final message entitled, "He Led Them On Safely." His text was taken from Ps. 78:53, and I Cor. 10:14. God will lead us on to Heaven if we will stay true to Him. The Eubank, Ky. church concluded with a skit entitled, "The Old Ship of Zion." What a wonderful time of prayer and fasting we had! Thank you God for your Spirit, your Word, and your supernatural presence!
